Welcome to the Grayslake FC page. We're Competitive Play a Different Way!

We are thrilled to be able to offer competitive play to players in Grayslake and surrounding communities! Unlike our Core Program, which is open registration (any one can play), Grayslake FC is a select program. This means players must tryout and be invited to  join one of the select teams.

Tryouts for the 2026/2027 playing season will take place during the week of April 13-17. Players may register for tryouts (free of charge) and if selected will play for Grayslake FC starting in the fall 2026 season.

The first step in the process is to register for tryouts through Region 396 Sports Connect site. Register at:  https://registration.bluesombrero.com/14698/select-registration-type
Once you have created an account, you will find the program by clicking the "available programs" tab to the right of your player's name.

There are a lot of things to consider when deciding which competitive program your child will tryout for and hopefully commit to. Let us introduce Grayslake FC to you.
Grayslake FC is a 100% volunteer run, not-for-profit program. Because we are volunteer run, you know this program is headed by  truly dedicated coaches. All of our volunteer coaches are USSF licensed and give their time to help keep players in the sport of soccer, who may be priced out by the pay to play structure many competitive programs have come to adopt. Our volunteers are the reason we can offer our program at a fraction of the cost many for-profit clubs charge.

AYSO's core philosophies are cornerstones of the competitive program. Those philosophies are:

Everyone Plays: AYSO’s goal is for kids to play soccer, so we mandate that every player on every team, core or competitive, plays a minimum of 50% during every game (unless injured or player requests to sit out);

Positive Coaching:  A coach can be one of the most influential people in a player’s life, so AYSO requires that they create a positive experience for every player in our programs. Additionally, encouraging player’s effort leads to greater enjoyment, improved skills and stronger motivation in players;

Good Sportsmanship: We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our programs are designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of gameplay. Don't get us wrong, winning is what all competitive teams are working towards, but we want our players to be humble in their wins and resilient during losses; and

Player Development:  All players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, to maximize their enjoyment of the game.

When you consider all Grayslake FC has to offer, we hope you consider us as one of your competitive options.
